The Prayer of Faith

May 2022

When you come before the Father in prayer, are you confident and bold with your request? Or, do you come as a victim of circumstances, begging for help?

I’ll never forget the time when my Dad was distressed over his financial situation and was praying (at least that is what he called it at the time) and God stopped him, and said:

   “WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”

Shocked, Dad replied, “I am praying.”

God said, “No, you are not. You are complaining and I would appreciate it if you would quit quoting what the devil said.”

The prayer of fear, doubt, complaining, or bargaining is not the prayer of faith.

The attitude of the prayer of faith is confidence and boldness. Why? Because you know ahead of time what God’s Word says and you have legal, written scripture to prove it. You prove it to the devil, you prove it to yourself, and you remind God and the courts of heaven that you have legal standing for your petition!

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

“And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.” (1 John 5:14)

When you know your legal right to stand before the throne with your request, you will realize there is no need to beg, whimper, or complain. Jesus has made you righteous, and a joint heir with Him. Search the Bible and know the scriptures that support your request. Then present your situation with boldness and the expected outcome. That is the prayer of faith!

Dear partner, when you send your prayer request this month, please include at least 2 scriptures that you are standing on for your situation. We will agree with you and stand with you on the basis of those scriptures.

In Christ,
